BIFAB BS-210M Horizontal Band Saw

Our BIFAB heavy duty band saws are built to the highest standards on the market. For example, the BS-210 comes standard with a solid cast iron saw head, allowing for straighter cuts than welded frames. The blade guide employs a hardened roller bearing and a 1/4 turn device to straighten out the blade assuring very straight and accurate cuts. Our band saws have quality Koya brand taper bearings, which are connected to hardened and ground drive shafts, which offers further stability. A precise liquid-filled blade tension gauge extends blade and bearing life. This tensioning system increases blade life especially when cutting round material like tubing or pipe. This horizontal band saw has a vise height of 35", which reduces operator back fatigue when lifting material. The miter angle takes seconds to change for increased production in any fabrication shop or machine shop, and offers tool-less changeovers. The BIFAB brand means quality metal fabricating and metal cutting machines. The BS-210's single mitering capability allows you to miter from zero to 60 degrees in seconds without any adjustments to the vise. This compact band saw requires only 240 volts of power, so it is perfect for small to medium-sized machine shops.

Like other BIFAB band saws, this machine comes standard with the ability to manually cut using the trigger switch on the handle, or it can be switched over to utilize a hydraulic descent feature that is normally seen on much more expensive models. When using the hydraulic descent feature, the descent pressure can be controlled for perfect cuts with no operator interaction required. This band saw will automatically stop the blade once the metal is finished being cut. A powerful 1-1/2 HP DC motor has the proper torque to drive the direct drive gearbox with no chatter, even at the slowest cutting speeds that are required when cutting mild steel. The DC motor has a variable speed drive that allows the operator to use the proper speed when cutting different types of material such as mild steel or aluminum. This increases blade life and cutting speed. The vise has a rapid advancing hand wheel that is locked by a 1/4 turn taper handle, which holds the material very securely against the serrated vise plates to further reduce any slippage. We have employed a very powerful industrial grade coolant pump that lubricates, cools and blasts away cut chips from the blade. This greatly extends blade life.
